Boyce Avenue

You've probably heard of them. they're VERY GOOD (like, really, really good). please go to Youtube and listen for yourself: BOYCE AVENUE. i have yet to decide which of the cover i love the best. so far, i've seen about 5 (and i love their version of Katy Perry's Firework)

i'll miss their Australia tour this august by a few days. darn!
here's their tour schedule in Australia

23/08 Perth
25/08 Melbourne
26/08 Sydney
28/08 Brisbane

and no, they're not heading for a tour in Asia (at least not in 2011).

edit:
my current favourite of covers they did is "How far we've come" by Matchbox 20. theirs mellower version from the original one. i guess, the riots in London influence my mood. God forbid, the riot to spread.

edit 2:
their good taste starting to turn stale to me. the voice is (to say the least)-mediocre. have to tinguk muka dia baru macam siok.. Cait!

BORNEO JAZZ 2011

too happy to put it in words. i'm going to catalogue my books for bookswap. Dr. Hidayah is an inspiration. i heard the line "toko buku kalau nggak dikunci juga ngak apa-apa kok. maling sih ngak mau curiin buku" in KALA (Indonesia's very disturbing fantasy film). so, what if ppl didnt return the books? so, what?

today's post, not about book. i'm promoting the BORNEO JAZZ 2011 in Miri this coming 12-15th may. formerly known as MIRI JAZZ FESTIVAL, this year the tourism board change it to a more appropriate and more commercial name (not to say that MIRI is not commercial enough). but, hard to miss the exocticness of the name BORNEO eh?

for more info on the performers, venue, etc. log on to: http://jazzborneo.com/

i'm hoping i'll be able to attend this. despite the fact that, its our final exam week. macam ada harapan mengular jak niii

Tip of Borneo Music Fest

From Borneo Post online, today. from this year onwards, the Tip of Borneo Music Fest will be featured in Sabah Tourism calendar as a major tourism event. Yay!

this year, it'll be on 16-17/ july.

Outdoor music performances, beautiful sunset on a beautiful beach. i have no idea who'll be performing. last year, Jesselton philharmonic orchestra was there. this year, i hope, i'll be there to join the crowd, cheering and listening to good stuffs. what's more? it's FREE ADMISSION. just bring your own mats.

ya, check with these people regarding the music fest. there might be slight changes from what they offered last year.

A reminder: Miri Jazz Festival is sometime in October. never been. maybe this year should. i should.
